Viva Vienna! And Britepaths
In May, we were very fortunate to have participated in the Viva Vienna Festival, where we raised awareness for our partnered organization, Britepaths, a group of professional and highly dedicated individuals that raise money for multiple causes in Fairfax County, including student-based fundraisers.
In Fairfax County alone, over 55,000 students receive free and reduced meals due to low income, and run short on school supplies as well.
We had launched our very own campaign that we named Braids for a Cause, where we braided festival goers and their children’s hair for $5 a braid. In the end, we exceeded our goal and made $132 to which all proceeds went towards Britepaths to help raise school supplies for local children in need.
Now we have decided to continue our work with Britepaths and create a new campaign, Backpacks for Britepaths! This is a back-to-school drive focusing on supply donations, directed toward 2,500 local students who are in demand of new backpacks and calculators to excel through the school year. We are accepting donations on site at our salon, with our drop off scheduled from July 1st through August 16th.
