Say Bye-Bye To Those Split Ends!

  • Blog

As you treat your hair with products and treatments, don’t forget those split ends! Although there are
products that target sealing split ends, it isn’t 100% effective. Many people dismiss getting haircuts
alongside their services. It’s time you give your hair that final touch and say goodbye to your split ends.
Keep reading to find out all the benefits of getting consistent trims!

Although there are many similarties between a haircut and a trim, they are different. When you trim
your hair you only take a small amount of your hair. Sometimes this is half an inch to 2 inches. Trims
are mainly used to get rid of any scraggly areas or to get rid of split ends. A haircut is much more
distant and can be any amount of hair. Haircuts can sometimes include layers or manual thinning of the
hair. Getting a trim is much milder than getting a haircut.
Getting a trim is a service that say’s goodbye to your split ends. When you trim the ends of your hair
you are getting rid of some of the damage that your hair experiences throughout the day. These split
ends could also be a product of adding direct heat to your hair frequently. Shampoo’s and conditioner’s
may also be contributing to your split ends. Always make sure you are using shampoo and conditioner
that is recommended to you by your stylist.
Depending on what you do to your hair on a daily basis may affect how often you should be getting a
trim. For example, if you tend to put your hair in a tight bun everyday or tend to straighten or curl your
hair everyday, it is more than likely that you will need to get more frequent trims or haircuts. If you
tend to let down your natural hair and use split end products, you may not need a trim or haircut as
often. You know your hair the best at the end and as you continue to get to know it, you’ll have a
feeling when it’s time for a trim.
An easy rule of thumb regarding trims, it is good to trim your hair every 4 months. If you’re trying to
attain more length, it is good to trim your hair every 6 to 8 months. It is commonly thought that
trimming your hair will make it grow faster. This is not true. Trimming your hair does help promote
healthy hair growth though. If you feel that your ends are looking rugged and dead, you are probably
due for a trim. Getting your hair cut or a trim will not help with hair loss. Regarding hair loss, if you
are insecure about it, the goal is to create the illusion that you have thicker hair. A specific haircut made
for you will help achieve this.
Always make sure you are going to a professional stylist who can give you the perfect cut and trim. Do
not give in to the quarantine trends and cut your hair yourself!
