Color Correction

At Alya Salon & Spa, not only can we brighten up your look with our vivid color, we also provide color correction services. What is color correction? It is the treatment and neutralization of your current hair color, to the shade that you’re looking for. The color correction process uses toners and special shampoos to balance out your hair’s latest color with the color that you desire.

We can lighten your dark hair, or give depth to your light hair. Let’s say a client comes in because they did a home-dye job trying to bleach very dark, brown hair. This often leaves a brassy tone to darker hair shades and won’t give complete root coverage for that full platinum look. While this may seem like a catastrophic failure, have no fear! We will wash the hair out with our OLIGO Black-light Blue Shampoo, condition it, tone it with a neutralizer, and then dye it the color you envisioned, root to tip. Some clients will come in because of a botched balayage, where the hair looks more like it was dipped in dye rather than evenly hand-painted so that the hair gradually increases in brightness. We can fix you right up with some balanced toning and shade matching with our perfected SHADES EQ color line.
If you find yourself in a hair dye disaster, always go to a professional first. Consultations with us are free and our advice is part of the job. Normally, we will tell you to give your hair some time to recover from the initial color. Hair can technically be processed again not long after the first dye, but leave it to your stylist to let you know what the best route to take is to keep your hair full, vibrant and healthy.
