Fashion Show 2019 “Celebration of Life”
Last May, we were fortunate to have participated in the 2019 “Celebration of Life”.
Gala and 10th Year Anniversary for the organizer and sponsor We Will Survive Cancer, a Washington D.C. based charity, at the National Museum of Women in the Arts. Our salon team worked in the Mila Fashion Couture Show to benefit cancer research.
We Will Survive Cancer is a non-profit organization founded by Gayela Bynum, a cancer and wellness advocate, who is also a fashion designer of clothing and accessories. Her soon to be released website, Gabi and Gabe, will donate a percentage of all sales to We Will Survive Cancer to assist families living with cancer. You can follow her on Instagram at @Gayela.
This year’s honoree was Maimah Karmo; a 12-year stage 2 breast cancer survivor and founder of the Tiger Lily Foundation, a cancer research, prevention, and wellness assembly. You can follow her at @MaimahKarmo.
Hair for the show was done by the fabulous stylist you know and love, Tammy Chestnutt, our multi-talented owner, Natalya Anderson, and last but not least, our newest stylist, Nelly. These styles were very complex and avant-garde, and all pieces were created by our stylists by hand. The inspiration behind these looks came from the Museum itself; as we want to always honor women in the arts, we wanted to
showcase our talents to our highest level as artistic women.
