First of all, expect to have your hair washed and conditioned! This will knock out any excess build up of silicone or parabens from any products you used prior, or dirt you might have at your roots, and will also leave your curls nice and polished. After conditioning, we will want to de-tangle your hair as well.

Secondly, we will dry your hair thoroughly. Cutting curly hair when it is wet can be difficult and give you an unexpected result, which is why it is said to cut your hair “where it lives”, meaning in it’s natural state. Loose curls are key for the DevaCut because it is a dry-cutting method.

Next, we want you to show us your hair goals! What inspired you to get the cut? What is your desired length? Show us your favorite styles from Instagram or a Pinterest board. We want to give you the exact look that you’re going for, curl for curl.

Last but not least, please keep in mind that your appointment time will depend on the length of your hair and the type of curl. For example, longer, thicker or coily hair types will take 1 hour or more. Letting your stylist know beforehand will help determine how long your stay at the salon will be, and also which products to use!
